As a small manufacturer, we make an effort to be frugal with office equipment and use working capital to improve our production facility. This spring it was determined that we needed to replace our facsimile machine. The previous machine had been purchased at a discount retailer and lasted less than two years. A business associate mentioned that they had purchased a machine from ABP that in addition to faxing had allowed them to scan documents and send them to pre-assigned e-mail addresses.

We called Scott at ABP to see what options were available. He introduced us to various machines available and explained the benefits of each. As we talked through the needs with our office personnel and looked at our existing equipment, per page costs, paper consumption, printer supplies and outside printing costs, we were surprised.

The decision was made to purchase a Savin C3030. Ink jet printers are going away, everyone can print in color when necessary, large reports are printed in paper saving mode. Low volume brochures and advertising material are prepared in-house. We are scanning documents to e-mail and e-mailing many documents that used to be faxed, much to the satisfaction of those receiving them. It has been a time saver and has brought us two decades into the future regarding office technology.
